World Toilet Day 19 November
World Toilet Day 19 November
Preamble
The following people have no adequate sanitation. India 818 million, China 607 million, Indonesia 109 million, Nigeria 103 million, Pakistan 98 million
Do not laugh at World Toilet Day
2.5 billion people don't have
Access to any kind of toilet
Whether personal or community type lav
They urinate and defecate where they can
Create conditions for dangerous disease
They have no real choice in the matter
They urinate, defecate where they please
More people have mobile phones than a toilet
6 billion people own their own phone
But only 4.5 have access to a toilet
Not all with the luxury of their own
The 2015 goal was to halve
All people living without toilets this way
It's running 150 years behind schedule
More money needed, more money, each day
The United Nations in 2013 agreed
To call it World Sanitation Day
But to simplify public understanding and acceptance
Renamed it as World Toilet Day
The World Toilet Organisation have come up with
Some amusing suggestions to raise cash
Urgent runs (call them 'fun runs') can be held
A fun run, yes, a fun run loo dash
Get all your friends to go squat
On the floor for a dollar a go
Break this taboo and start talking
About sanitation, high and low
