Blog

 

I want to call it 'weblog'

But others want it 'blog'

It's 'nuf to drive me drinking

Driving me to grog

 

I like to think I'm cultured

Queen's English, and all that

But 'blog' does not Queen's English make

Nor does this thing, 'blog chat'

 

Perhaps I'm just old-fashioned, but

To call it 'blog' sounds yukky,

I want to keep my standards up

Not let them slide, go mucky

 

Now 'blog' is short for 'weblog'

A log of ones own choosing

Weblog I want, seems blog it is

A fight I fear I'm losing

 

Now we as British poets

With language from the Queen

See something not quite right here

Something that we have seen

 

Oh ?

 

You say you're into culture

And do not like 'blog chat'

Why do you use street-language

Like 'nuf and words like that ?

 

Dunno...
