AS A KID

AS A KID

Drip, drip, drip,

As a kid, rain always looked enticing to sip.

Moo, Moo, Moo,

As a kid, having cows lick your hand was the thing to do.

Ruff, Ruff, Ruff,

As a kid, you didn’t need anything else since a dog was enough.

Swish, Swish, Swish,

As a kid, the sound of your body in a bathtub acting like a fish.

Gulp, Gulp, Gulp,

As a kid, orange juice was the only thing people beat to a pulp.

Wee-woo, Wee-woo, Wee-woo,

As a kid, acting like an officer and respecting the law was something we do.

Liar, Liar, Liar,

As a kid, this was what you told someone with their pants on fire.

Mom, Mom, Mom,

As a kid, this was the only thing you knew was the bomb.

Dad, Dad, Dad,

As a kid, he always showed you that things weren’t that bad.

Now we’re adults and things have changed,

To worrying about fires, shootings, and the mentally deranged.

An entertaining foray into how kids can follow (or not) for good or bad, and wonder in later life how things can go so wrong!
