Masks
Masks
On the outside you see
Someone happy and carefree
Full of smiles, giggles, laughs and prosperity
Focused, determined, set on accomplishing goals,
A character that shines with a heart full of gold
But no one sees what’s going on inside,
The anguish, despair, the desire to die
The hurt, the pain, the endless tears,
The worry, the question, “why am I still here?”
No hope, no happiness, only pointless desires
Asking God to, please, extinguish my fire…
Of a life that’s a waste, no purpose at all
But with the masks she wears,
You wouldn’t know it at all….
