What Makes a Man King - Zweluthini
What Makes a Man King – Zweluthini?
We loved you from way back
In history, revered your warriors and your wives,
We demonstrated outside international embassies,
During days of Apartheid,
We loved your culture your history
And traditions,
We envied all of Africa for its Peoples,
That love is still within our hearts
And minds, during sad and tragic times.
Shaka-Zulu has just one wife,
Just one for all his love,
Now calling up the elders –
Their tears must rain down for
All of Africa, where your very
Culture, could signal, your own death.
The Zulu, The Xhosa be
Proud determined peoples,
Races that we are still in earnest
Trying to save,
But the battle ground is not
Of spears and guns, but of a malady
Called Aids.
Does twenty wives make you man
Or make you King?
That policy be all yours,
But for sake of all your children’s tears,
Seek a modern solution,
For twenty wives with HIV,
Disembarks your people from this Earth,
An Earth that deeply mourns your loss,
An Earth less rich without your presence.
Forty-six million worldwide
Makes mockery of giving life,
And eleven percent in South Africa herself,
Makes floodgates of my tears,
You sit upon the threshold of extinction
While we beg and pray for you,
And we sing the song UBUNTU
And hail the Xhosa and the Zulu.
ZUMA, KING ZWELUTHINI,
MANDELA, ANAN,
We never fought for your homeland,
Just to see you kill yourselves,
For in truth it only takes
One man, one man with love for woman
And his children,
One King to bring an
Attitude of change,
And halt the spread of false convictions.
For convicted in all the seed that’s
Spread, at the whim of this disease;
A life that only quarrels death,
Before the life has even lived.
In truth my King A Man’s prowess,
Is not judged by how many he
Can Kill,
But how he himself can
Change a failing attitude,
And acknowledge stubborn truths.
Sing a song
Four Triple Six Four,
Stay with we on EARTH,
We love the all of Africa,
And bring about reform.
