Ghost of a Memory

A Highlander's spirit lingers

close to the edge of a rocky, mountain ledge.

Bag-piped music drifts in time

with purple rolling skies'

and the scent of heather grows stronger.

As morning sun rises; breaking mists'

are carried on ocean waves...

to another shore where a girl,

standing at water's edge, unfolds a handkerchief,

drenched in the essence of her tears.

Clutching a bouquet garni, tied with a sprig of heather,

looses the tartan ribbons wrapped in strands of hair,

to capture the ghost of a memory.
