use a lot of obscure words

reference some philosopher

some line in a book

that shows how scholarly you are

use symbols

use metaphors

use drugs

make sure the poem does not rhyme

they hate rhyming

wander all over

make sure the meaning

is as obscure as you can make it

sign name

submit in duplicate

enclose entry fee

with extra tip

commend the editor

for his brilliance

ask about his degrees

order one of His books

sucking up

is always a good tactic

self-promotion is a lot of work

more work than the poem itself.
