Selfless selfie
We have it all wrong
Serial selfie abusers are among
The most selfless, the least egotistical
People we should strive to know
Really
This act
Repeated over and over (and over)
Of extending one’s arm
In the middle of, well, anywhere
Stopping time, and traffic and pedestrians
To share memorable pictures with, well, anyone
Of sunrises, sunsets, beaches, mountains, buildings, clothes, no clothes, cars, airport departure screens, food, drinks, you know what I mean
And, oh, by the way
With a self-satisfied face covering up three quarters of the once in a lifetime shot
Is an act of pure inclusiveness
Not to mention (but I must)
The courage required to be an extreme selfie abuser
Dangling dangerously close to the edge of cliffs
In search of the most exclusive, exquisite, death-defying, riveting shot
Selfie is an act of bravery
People willingly side-stepping their life
To share moments they forgot to enjoy
Should bring tears to our eyes
Selfie is an act of altruism
Really
Out of respect
We should take pictures of people taking selfies

You raise a good point. I am afraid I can never quite understand people taking 'selfies'. But then I hate pictures of myself anyway, much less take them myself.
Nice one
