Did you brush it from your hair?

or maybe from your teeth?...

your clothes?

Perhaps it was washed away from out of your blankets?...

or tights?...

or down the bath water?...

or flushed behind a closed toilet?

Maybe you strode away from it

or slept it out-dreamt it away-

lit-smoked- and coughed it up.

Did you lose it on a train, a taxi or in a fight?

Misplaced it in some drawer? or behind jars of cream?...

Scraped it off  your shoe?

Has it found its way into the corner of a pocket?

Was it locked out?...

or hung up and forgotten about?-

failed to water it?...

let it wither and die...

or just given away?

did you give it back to me?

Where did it go?
