Death
Death was coming
around every corner
I sat patiently
awaiting its embrace
The time was close
no more running
No more substitutes
to take my place
No more thinking
no more doing
No more indulging
no more pursuing
No more time
for having fun
No more time
to get things done
I had to face it
it had to come
And I had to greet it
with open arms
Death was coming
I could not hide
Coming to take me
for my final ride
