Nottingham
I love living in Nottingham -
For it is my home and favourite city.
The people there are always friendly
And the parks are very large and pretty.
There is so much to see and do,
And it's such a special place.
It is famous for so many things,
From Raleigh bikes to lace.
To find all about it's past,
The Castle Museum is where to start -
An intriguing place to wander round,
And see all its history and art.
It was also home of Robin Hood as well,
Our great and famous outlaw.
Well known for stealing from the rich,
Then give it all to the poor.
One may like to roam round Sherwood Forest,
With the major oak to view.
It's known as the city of caves as well,
With infamous Mortimer's hole too.
.
Then comes a highlight of each year,
An event we call Goose Fair.
With lots of games and rides and stalls,
There is so much fun to be had there.
It was home to D H Lawrence too,
Eastwood's great and famous writer.
A big critic of industry.
Who felt the countryside made life brighter.
And this is home to the famous two,
-Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Who were our superb and wonderful
Ice skating king and queen.
So I love living in Nottingham,
With all its history.
A place with so much going on -
It’s where I always wish to be.
