Possums
Them possums
are wonderful beasts
with their wire hair
all scruffy and scraggly lookin'
they are purdy scrappy though
always prowlin' around
climbin' fences
in the dark of night
sneakin' through back yards
lookin' in trashcans
eatin' out of the dog dish
they play dead
but try pickin' one up
they bare their teeth
hiss like a snake
scare the heck outta small children
but you caint fault em
they have gotten used to city life
and make the best of it
they bring a bit of wildness to
dull city lives
a touch of humor too
and even when they get kilt
up on the highway
they die with a grin
on their.face.

Dk, love me the 'possum. Me 'n the missis kept a groun' feeder out back just for them for awhile. An' that hiss'll scare the bark out of a dog.
