Fading
Memory fades
like footprints ‘cross the beach
rinsed by relentless tides
to pass beyond my reach
and where are you
my fast forgotten dream
passed on to pastures new
like dead leaves on a stream
that paradise
an idyll lost in time
extinct in but a trice
a broken paradigm
evanescent
pale ghost in morning mist
a shade no longer present
as if we never kissed
