The easy rhyme of St valentine

St valentine painted the words the wrong colour
They are not read
And blind cupid was cruel
With his arrow
he should never hurt a heart
He should aim for the knees instead
For that is where I first felt it
And If only we could
Frame and freeze the first moment
In a card
Bottle, Trace and tease an outline
Of our lovers
that first moment
can only fade in paper………….

Gently cupid
Gently valentine
Steady with your padded card
And rose wine
the easy rhyme of words within
Steady on
cheap cards from athena

We don’t really need you

You only brush these fleeting things
February 14
One day is not enough
For I cradle her an eternity
And leave
The piercing pain of love
To you
as price to pay for a card
or a song to write scorned

our love is real
And I am her gloved surround
content
She the flesh I found without you
Her bosom the welcome barrier
to her heart
I forge our love, a farrier
Am I without you downtrodden?
And I
Am I Your fabric?
Suffocated, gladly I would die
In beads and gasps
Yes we are breathing clasps
Entwined!
As fragile as pollen
Sacred yet Imperfect
we yield
As the years are reeled out
Diamonds
And ruby
And gold
And all the lovers
And all the years hold them
These are the colours of the words
And orange
And autumns brown
And aqua
And jade
And coral
And you the one I crave
and the hands move all over
and we still misbehave
and a pulse still races
The wrinkles and the romance
our silver kiss evades
elevate, persuade
the cynical
the unmade minds
our living love
is food for the blind
who cannot see
true
without cupid
or the easy rhyme
of St valentine

Tes mots d'amour me fais toujours fondre le coeur...
Tu sais toucher.. tu sais t'exprimer avec tes mots...

HI Peter, wow, this is different from what I read most of the time from you, is this really you? Im sure I would not know this side of you ever. How is Rose? I remember a rose, and a friend, that all seems so long ago faded into dusty dreams almost forgotten. nice poem

Pete - you do this very, very well. The emotion and feeling is palpable (is that a word?). I've just listened to your poem 'jealousy' on your CD and marvelled at its delivery. Is there a hint of Gel 0 C in this one?
