Astounding Autumn
I awoke from my slumber on a dark October morn
Drew back the blinds feeling very low and forlorn
Out I ventured into the bracing invigorating air
Walked across a woven carpet of leaves without a care
A perfect vision of red yellow and brown hues
Lifting my mood and banishing the lonesome blues
I wandered across the fields laden with glistening dew
Up in the sky starlings performed precise and true
Came across a solitary scarecrow stood on guard
As I meandered on the frosty path to the old churchyard
The weathered graves have seen the seasons come and go
A chirpy red robin was singing merrily don’t you know
Strolled through the woods in a world of my own
Trees swaying gently in the breeze watch over me as I roam
My enlightening journey is almost nearing its end
As the daylight dims and the darkness descends
Man it has been a really special delightful delicious day
I am overwhelmed and lost for words but let me say
