Five of Swords – Wounded pride – Negative energy, the Nyaa-nya-nyaa-nyaaa

Interpretation: The five of swords indicate that the seeker or someone around the seeker may be acting in a negative or destructive manner and being very deceitful about it. Always looking over the shoulder. Perhaps you or someone known to you is so concerned with winning that everyone is ignoring the consequences of their actions and ignoring other people’s feelings as well. This card shows failure and defeat of a degrading nature. Winning cowardly by unfair means and trickery manipulation. A loss decreed by the Gods.

In this card there two other people that have their backs turned towards the one having to look over his shoulder, this indicates that this is a cheap victory and the hurt caused has made the people around you turn their back and walk away. Perhaps the seeker needs to reconsider the course of action about to be taken that could cause a lot of misfortune to themselves and to others. Don’t let your sense of pride and ego stop you from asking for help rather than having to resort to such devious manner.

This card may also indicate that someone has been working against you out of jealousy or spite. This is the card of the sore loser. It may be you or it may be someone around you.

Reversed: The reversed five of swords has the same meaning as the upright card but lessened. It’s still an empty victory and unfairness of having to deal with the slyness of other or even yourself.

This card also indicates a promise that the time of attack is over. Whoever has been sabotaging you and gossiping unfairly about you will be bought into the open and have to be honest about the things they have done slyly behind your back or by ceasing their negative attributes towards you. If the saboteur is you then you will have to come to realize this and stop your destructive behaviour and deceitful nature. No more having to keep looking over your shoulder in cheap victory.
