Blank Canvas

entry picture

It's attitude was neutral

Neither here, nor there

Just a bare canvas

That stands without care

A vast space vibrating

It waits without rush

Filled with anticipation

For the stroke of a brush

Allowing anything

The artist desires

Till the picture appears

For all to admire

Ruth

Gimme a break
I gotta rhyme
Semishut/nuts
Works real fine.....

So that's just ONE
Of your reading-aloud voices?
I'd now like to hear
A variety of choices

?

Thanks Don, well you did ask me what my voice was like ? that's just one of my reading aloud voices lol . Good job i dont have your number, you might not be able to wake up or Thalia! Nice to put a voice to a face sometimes though, so there you go.

Ah Thanks for this nice artistically themed poem Nigel, I like the pencil talking to the paint brush!

Thankyou Do.Ro.Thy for your kind words, the music you heard was The kiboe which is a Japanese harplike instrument.

An offer you can't refuse

Pencil says
to brush
follow my lines

Colours splash
images appear
I likes respond

Before long
someone offers
price of fame

Ah yes Ruth you were so right
Your voice was all you said
Calming, sorta neutral
Like story just 'fore bed

Yawn.....

I listened 'puter-seated
Eyelids semishut
Lulled into oblivion
(And yes I do like nuts)

I can just imagine
Listeners (radio Sunday)
Hanging on your every word
(But no Ruth, don't play croquet)

Wake up Thalia!......you've sent her off to sleep ?
