Do Not Go Gentle If You Dislike
Do not go gentle into that good night
so say old men who play till dusk of day
and rage against the dying of the light
Though wise men know their Dominoes are right
still must avoid the nagging of their wives
who scold them long into the dark of night
Good men, who run the table think they're bright
they drink their beer and smoke their crooked pipes
grown used by now to all their spouse's gripes
Wild men who play and play into the night
were not forewarned at vows of their oncoming plight
dismiss poor spouses, continue with their Domino delight
Grave men resist, though age has dimmed their sight
hairlines recede, will not accede their right
to play long long into the dark of night
And he my father, in all his Domineering might
ignores his gentle wife, does so in spite
plays on regardless, will not go gentle into the damned night.
