NHS STRESS KILLS
A recent study of electoral promises about the current NHS caused unwanted raised blood pressure.
I have been enduring some of the unwanted and unsought inadequacies possessed by those who are so
efficient being inefficient..
In early October i had a blood check for continued use of a medication - together with a flu jab. The former
was analysed and I received a text to say the result was satisfactory and no further action was needed.
Imagine my surprise the other day then I got a text telling me I was entitled to a flu jab and to ring to arrange
an appointment or tell if i'd got one elsewhere. At the same time my request to renew the medication relating
to my blood check and satisfactory result was blocked because I had to show that my result was
satsfactory before a renewal of the prescription was granted. This was exacerbated by a previous
experience when - despite production of the result in person by me and a copy being made, a renewal
application for the medication was blocked because the information of the result was required before
it could be approved..
I have told my pharmacist - an unwilling middleman/witness to this farrago - that if stress got me
I only hoped it would be outside the place where such numpties are employed - supposedly on behalf
of our health!

Hi Brian -always a good to hear from you. The basic premise of the NHS being free for patient access is its most valuable and
prized quality. Problems have arisen that have their likely cause
in an increase in patient demand (more needy people!!) and a
political failure to "keep up" - with front ;line staff seeming to take
second place to the administration/executive brigade - hardly in
the "sharp end" interest of patient care!! Thanks also for your
comment on Animal Farm 2019.
P and DM - thanks for your comments - always appreciated.
