My neck started hurting this week

there was a knot there

that hurt like crazy

I could hardly move or turn my head

without excessive pain

 

my darling wife took over

said here take this

I said what is it

a pain reliever she said

 

it will probably work in about 8 hours

if not

there's always the final solution

 

what's that I asked innocently

AMPUTATION she replied

It's quicker and there are no side effects

 

I gulped down the pill

and pretended it worked great

acting in my own behalf

 

I will no longer ask for any assistance

I'll keep my head about it

and suffer through it without help

 

bad things happen when

you stick your neck out.
