Gang related - an uncles anguish - Fictional Story
wake up from a buzz from my phone.
Its my nephew he leaves me a voice note
"Uncle I'm coming to your home"
He sounded worried,
So I try call him back, but im met with the tone.
I'm hearings knocks at my door.
"Open the door uncle, I'm feeling cold"
I open it and in he rushes in.
I'm confused, look at the clock its 4am
"What the hell is this"
He's bruised up and bleeding from his nose,
I tell him to wash himself, go to the freezer and grab something cold.
I ask him what's happened to him.
I'm worried about him, now that his panicking.
"I was on my way home, I bumped into a gang.
They assaulted me and they tried to steal my phone.
But I hit one of them and ran away from them.
But i think they grabbed my friend.
I don't know happened after though, cus it was so dark,
We both ran for our lives, but then we broke apart"
So I asked if he called the police,
He tells me that ain't gangster
I told him stop being a fool that shit ain't the answer.
You want to play that game, think before you act so what you want to do?
He tells me about some trouble he had.
The other day in college how someone got stabbed.
Somehow this gang thinks that he's invovled,
So they calling him on his phone, threatening him, sending pictures of them standing outside his home.
So I asked if these are the same people?
If so call the police.
You have no reason to prove anything,
So let them know so you can walk these street in peace.
But he tells me he doesn't want that.
Instead he wants to hit back.
So he pulls out a piece,
And tells me in sick thoughts how he wants to squeeze,
Leave a teen deceased, see wrathes in his name.
everyone salutes on social media offering condolences with statuses quoting "Rest In Peace".
I ask him what will that achieve?
I ask him what's his plans after?
Cus once you go to deep in that life.
Theres no going back, if you want to play gangster.
Think young king is this your plan?
Do things the right way and be a man.
He tells me that he is being a man,
He's standing up to this gang.
He tells me that he will get them first
Like he's stuck in a dream right now and it's a curse
That he needs to get rid off
That he needs to stop.
"I need to do this to represent the ends"
"They won't get away shit! if they hurt my friend"
Listen to me.
Life isn't not a game, what can you stand for if you lose?
You've proven the stereotype correct.
"Senseless young youths trigger happy in the streets again" all over the news.
Do you want to be a real man?
You really want to do some gangster shit?
Educate your mind. Get yourself a degree.
Make a living, own a mansion, have fancy cars stack money higher than you can see.
Prove all these so called "gangsters" how you can really roll.
Make things happen, move mountains. conduct yourself in such a manner you've conquered life on your own.
Ask any real man out there.
What it takes to raise kids right.
Ask any man out there!
What it takes to treat a woman right.
Ask any married man this question.
How does it feel raising beautiful kids with your wife?
Let them give you their answer.
It wont be the one you'd expect, cus it's something you can't fathom.
The kind of thing you wont understand.
But trust me!
I used roll with hot headed cats whos hearts were frozen cold.
But when their seeds came into existence their hearts were melted.
Now they changed their ways cus the blessing that came and they felt it.
Now you're just a kid, not with it like that. Trigger happy like you mean shit.
These boys would have buried you 10 times over.
But they changed.
No longer part of the cycle. Of this twisted Synical game.
Chose kid, what will it be?
A life watching over your shoulder at all times?
Or a life you can create for yourself and live free?
Listen kid you've got a whole life ahead of you.
Don't let the streets Influence you.
Cus I promise you this,
If you keep going like this.
Very quickly you'd cease to exist.
Young king, take it from me.
I'd tell you as it is.
There ain't no life there.
Just anguish and pain.
Take it from me, it's not worth it.
Now give me that piece and get some sleep.
Wake up in the morning and well talk more about this.
The next morning I wake up, nephew ain't here so I check my phone.
I see my nephews picture on the news.
Facebook statuses of "fallen soldier gone too soon"
My heart races I rush to the kitchen and pray that his there.
He left a note for me.
"Uncle, I'll make you proud. I'm sorry for the bothering you"
"I'm sorry that I came with this drama to you"
Then it hit me.
For my nephew there is no tomorrow.
He's left this earth.
Another tally to the statistic.
He was here with me last night, now his soul has drifted.
Rest now young king.
You was taken away so soon.
If you're reading this then understand this too.
If you conduct yourself in such a way, the next tally strikes can be agaisnt you!

Vautaw,
Pleasure to meet you. I was having this discussion earlier actually. The wise ones learn from the mistakes of others, the fool learns by making mistakes themselves. But yes unfortunately the youth are lost in streams of social media, influences they see and video games.
They wont know lifes harshness till they get hit ?♂️

Thanks for the motivation to keep it going. Hopefully it will resonates amongst all ages!!!!
