A Dream of no Consequence
A Dream of no Consequence
I was in a large public park
the sort found in a city's suburbs
With large expanses of lawn
shaded by old well established trees
Herbaceous borders abounded
delineating pathways punctuated with benches
It was a summer's afternoon
and I was quite alone meandering
In my knapsack I had a large wedge
of English Stilton Cheese but nothing to drink
I met a woman there who worked in
a large glass building full of tables and chairs
I bought a small bottle of mineral water
and shared my cheese with her
As we ate the cheese cascaded
from our over full mouths
It was delicious and we ate ravenously
the water was soon exhausted
I paid her for the water and left
replete but with the memory of her face
It was fixed in my mind
she reminded me of an old film star
