I have loved her now

for over 50 years

and everyday she

brightens my life

 

in my eyes

she seems to never change

she is still the lovely girl

I kissed and fell for

one summer night at the

Sonic Drive-in

her hair up in curlers

 

still laughing at my jokes

still giving me delight

with baby talk and

her little girlish ways

 

now in the twilight

we reminisce

as we grow closer

ever still

 

we fit

like nut and bolt

 

our love tightening

into old age.
