Hi Greg. Enjoyable evening and well done to all for the enthusiasm thus displayed. Was a little acoustically challenged sitting so far back but really enjoyed meeting so many of the friendly guys. I think my poem about being seen in 'a bearskin' put ladies off. Will try to make the next one. :)

Still basking in the glow of a remarkable Write Out Loud Woking on Monday night. Fifteen poets turned up to read and contribute to a wonderful mix of content and styles, including three making their debut at the New Inn - Della Reynolds, Phil Whittick, and Molly Carpenter. Good to see Geoffrey and Lorri Pimlott back from Thailand, others who were here last month returning for more, and never to forget the staunch and invaluable support of our regulars! The full list of readers was Tricia McNamee, Dave Atchinson, Della Reynolds, Carla Scarano, Phil Whittick, Simon Wright, Kitty Coles, Amel Oudjida, Molly Carpenter, Geoffrey Pimlott, Peter Taylor, Amanda Briggs, Andy V Frost, Eddie Chauncy, and Ray Pool. Many thanks from comperes Rodney Wood and Greg Freeman.

Grateful thanks from comperes Rodney Wood and Greg Freeman to all those who came along to read on Monday night - that's Tricia McNamee, Amel Oudjida, debut reader David Atchinson, Simon Wright, Eddie Chauncy, Denise Bundred, Peter Taylor, Amanda Briggs, Andy V Frost, Ray Pool, and Karen Izod. We're delighted at the mix of voices, as well as the sense of camaraderie that Write Out Loud Woking has encouraged. And we triumphed over Sutton v Arsenal, too!

Thanks to all those who read at Write Out Loud Woking on Monday - that means you, David Andrew, Michael Cutchey, Amel Oudjida, Kitty Coles, Peter Taylor, Andy V Frost, Eddie Chauncy, and Ray Pool - plus comperes Rodney Wood and Greg Freeman, plus the four diners who asked to take their meal in the poetry section of the New Inn so that they could listen in. Another fine evening of warmth, community, and shining words.

Thanks to all, poets and audience, for the fabulous festive fun we had at the New Inn last night. Fourteen readers - our highest total since our opening night back in May - included three Write Out Loud Woking debutants - Tricia McNamee, Amel Oudjida, and Kitty Coles. The full list of poets was: Jonathan Pressey, Tricia McNamee, Geoffrey Pimlott, Michael Cutchey, Karen Izod, Andy V Frost, Amanda Briggs, Amel Oudjida, Peter Taylor, Lorri Pimlott, Kyle McHale, Ray Pool, Eddie Chauncy, and Kitty Coles. The audience included am-dram friends from Send Amateur Dramatic Society - thanks for coming! Highlights included a Christmas performance poem from Amanda Briggs, a collaboration between Karen and Ray on a joint poem about their old school in Ashford, co-host Rodney Wood's festive garb, and fellow MC Greg Freeman being rescued by his wife Gillian, who found the rest of the Journey of the Magi on her phone, and allowed him to complete his reading. Happy Christmas - and see you back here in January 2017!

Another great night at Write Out Loud Woking on Monday night! Fabulous poetry, a generous supply of audience, and we were pleased to welcome Michael Cutchey to the New Inn for the first time. Thanks also to Peter Morley, Karen Izod, Peter Taylor, Carla Scarano, Ray Pool and Eddie Chauncy. Eddie shared poems from his book Meditations, which is already sold out. We demand a reprint! Thanks also to co-hosts Rodney Wood and Greg Freeman. Next one will be our Christmas gathering, on Monday 19 December - make sure you're there!

A great vibe on Monday night at the New Inn, thanks to fine poetry from Ray Pool, Andy BJ Low, Kyle McHale (congratulations on your happy news, Kyle!), David Andrew, Alex Twyman, Karen Izod, Alwyn Marriage, Eddie Chauncy and Andy V Frost - not forgetting comperes Rodney Wood and Greg Freeman, of course. And also not forgetting Duncan, Ray's musician friend who came to listen and ended up reading a poem he had jotted down on the night, about the film 2001 and its director Stanley Kubrick. Very good it was, too. Come back next month, Duncan! He was obviously inspired by the poetry he was hearing. It was a night of good and interesting conversations, judging from postings elsewhere on social media!

Thanks to all our all readers on 18 July - Geoffrey and Lorri Pimlott, Andy V Frost, Ray Pool, Janet Collinson, Denise Bundred, Eddie Chauncy, David Andrew, hosts Greg Freeman and Rodney Wood, and especially Elaine McGinty, leader of the Phoenix Cultural Centre project, who read some thoughtful and hard-hitting lyrics about regeneration and the like. And Dominic James, a contributor to Write Out Loud for many years, who these days is based in Gloucestershire, but paid us a special visit..

Thanks to everyone who came along to the second Write Out Loud Woking on Monday night, and contributed to a wonderful night of top-quality poetry. Particular memories will be Simon Wright's debut public poetry performance, and Denise Bundred's Hippocrates prize-winning poem, plus others about footballers in a children's ward, and one referencing Sharpeville and Soweto. There were also brilliant contributions from Ray Pool, Peter Taylor, Peter Morley, Eddie Chauncy, Janet Collinson, Andy V Frost, Jonathan Cressey, and Geoffrey and Lorri Pimlott. Thanks also to our extra audience member who wandered in from the bar, maybe to get away from the England match, and stayed for the duration. And Peter Morley - hope you managed to retrieve your hats!
