Serendipity
You’re like a perfect picture of everything
Your mind, your laugh
That genuine smile
You’re like a breath of fresh air
So pure, curable
It’s insane how you made me feel
You want me to believe I’m sane.
I almost lost in all hopes
Love, life, happiness in whole
It was a downfall, endless hole
Somehow you came into my life
And proved the world isn’t that bad after all.
Your words ...

I COULDN'T CARE TUPPENCE
Nippity-pippity, flippity-gibbity,
I couldn't care tuppence about serendipity!
Life is a craps game, a stage-play, a dance;
Life is a sap's game fate plans in advance!
Nippity-pippity, flippity-gibbity
I couldn't care tuppence about serendipity!

Serendipity
“Mummy,” queries Oliver, “What does serendipity mean?”
“Let me see your teeth, Ollie. Are you sure you brushed them clean?”
“Well?” persists the little lad as she rushes him out the door.
Words like that, she thinks to herself, should be against the law!
She chats about the day ahead, his attention goes astray.

The Choice (a true story)
The Poetry Spoke raffle
Two prizes remain.
The first is a G-string
Of chocolate. Insane!
The second's a diary
and calendar twee.

My ticket has been pulled.
I start the long walk.
To cheers and crude comments
I feel a right dork.
I could take the G-string
and give it to Izz

Serendipity and Happenstance
She’d lived a life of chastity
Devoid of boys or men
Some fifty years of life alone;
Well, almost – until Ben.
He met her quite by accident
Both at the Old Folks Dance;
They chatted over biscuits,
Discussing potted plants.
Ramrod straight and military,
Grey haired and nuthatch-neat,
His gentlemany tete-a-tete
Complicit and dis...

Serendipity
For finding a nail the shoe was fixed.
For gaining a shoe the horse was available.
For having a horse the rider was on stage.
For involvement of the rider the battle was won.
For winning the battle the kingdom was gained.
And all because of the horseshoe nail.
