The Hidden Essence
At the time I was somewhat cold,
A child doing as it was told,
Sitting in the hut Dad just built,
Not so solid, a bit of tilt,
The rain dripping onto my head,
Family there, us being fed,
Avoiding spiders seen about,
Waiting until we could run out,
Back inside into our home warm,
Before drizzle turned into storm,
Yet now all I...

Trust...
They reach me,
And,
I give them my all,
Yet after that,
They leave me Alone.
They will come back,
Once again, for sure,
With a different face,
A different name,
A new personality,
All along,
And once again,
I will give them my all,
Will they, this time
Stay by my side?
I don't know,
But that's how Trust works,
That's how Life works.

A song of time
The sky shed tears, on that day
The day the wind took you away
The thunder of time, rumbled on
Playing a melancholic song
The lightning splitting my heart in two
A piece for me,
a piece for you
One day we'll stitch it back together
And then, my love,
we have forever

No Time Added On
We don’t talk much
beyond the weather,
but we can talk football
forever and ever.
Drive into the box,
mark the man in space,
a shared language, we
can kick all over the place.
Your personal terms met.
Time for a fresh dawn.
Our commentary box quiet,
your armchair view gone.
Our home game ended,
and there’s no time added on.

The Boot
Walking past The Boot tonight
a warm but sunless dusk
The door was open wide
drinkers shuffling and spilling out
I think of that favourite friend
who brought me here five years ago
We played some pool, supped our beer
as he talked of his dilemma
His partner wanted children
but regrettably, he did not
she gave him ultimatums
and he wasn’t sure what to do
When the world stopped for...

Moon
" Hello moon," can you help heal this broken heart
Can you take away the pain of the one I've lost?
The waves crashed loud, my heart beat fast, tears fell down my cheeks as I cried,
"Hello moon" can you help heal this broken heart
Can you take away the pain of the one I've lost?
My feet touched the ocean waves as the moon shined bright on my teary face
I just want to let her go, ...

The Memory Of Her
On Prebends bridge I caught the evolution of twilight into dawn.
Watched shifting hues of shadow and light brightening into colour.
And, for a moment, I thought I saw her
looking up through the morning mist.
Her pallid, frail frame accentuated by the glistening blue ocean of her eyes.
But, she faded. Like the mist itself
And all that I was left with, once again,
was the sh...

Wounds of liberation
Imagine being totally untethered
After feeling chain linked
I feel split
That part removed
That half is trying to renew
But it hurts
To grow scab over wound
Missing you is mourning you
Leaving you is still losing you
And I’m just as lost
As I made you
If it could be
I would make it be
Should I be chain linked again
I would make it good
Should ...

life is beautiful
i would fall from heights
shaking Lucifer terrified
for Luna's starry skies to linger,
in a Jashar night, by your side.
floating on Chopin stroked ivory nocturnes
swimming in deep ruby pools of Pinot Noir
dancing on your flowering lips,
sweet with vanilla cigarette smoke.
life is beautiful.
phosphorus waves of purple patches
carry me from seas of stormy eyes
onto shores sanctuary ...

Regret
Regret
Regret
A thousand times regret.
Choices made,
that cannot be unmade.
Stupid things,
done again and again.
Foundations
laid for a useless life.
Coming to an end for some time.
At least death will be done right.
Kind of hard to screw that up.

Distend
Fortune fails what love forgets
An entanglement of horror
Forgotten fools, defile the soul
Left foraging for sorrow
Permissive lives, destroyed by God
Perturbed, entrenched with puss
Presumed and cloaked in putrid lies
Distends a repulsive trust
