Broken wings

Feathers stuck in the cage

Yet melody that soothes

Watching her flying friends

Spreading wings in the sky stage

Giving the luxury life

With food and shelter

No worries of hunt or hunter

Living with the broken wings alive

freedom   caged   birds   humanity

Tongue Tied

The words that tell my story
To the depth it should be told
Have buried deep inside of me
And spread through flesh and bone.

I cannot catch a single thread
That isn't so firmly tied
Around my mind and lungs and heart
That if I pulled it out I'd die.

That's why forming sentences
Is ripping me apart
And as for explaining anything
Will I ever get the chance?

open the window

drunk first is best

The Bird

The cage she’s in is paper thin,

She sits upon her perch and then

She cries, a chirp, a whistle, a hymn,

But no one hears the bird.

 

The world she’s in is waging war,

She cannot try to match the score.

And now, she screams out, β€œNevermore”,

But no one hears the bird.

 

Flutter as she might, she fails,

Falls to the clutch of someone else.
