My parents
From one end of this life to the other
I will always need my Father and Mother
The roads I have gone and things I have seen
Without them who knows where I would have been
Available to solve anything I don’t understand
Always here to give me a helping hand
For all my years I have always needed them
Giving all their support from AM to PM
Reading awesome bedtime stories t...

Im sorry
Painful words thrown at my plate.
Painful words filled with hate.
No i love yous, i love you too.
Everything i do bothers you.
Time heals all wounds.
Yet my heart was broken way to soon.
Cant seem to find the way to tell you
that your breaking me down it feels like hells soon to become.
my life. my world. my thoughts.

From Lexus To Flames
Helping other people can become infectious
so if your wealthy enough to drive a Lexus
consider the impact of gifts to a poor family
let those generous ideals bring hope willingly
to all that are struggling without fault of their own
for decent jobs are not there for all as is shown
by the queues at food banks and rooms to rent
as all the income they have is far too soon spent…
Wealth is ...

DAD
There was a man I knew,
not too close, not too far,
as a child he was there
to tend to my scars.
A man with a past,
of that I had no doubt,
a man, when provoked,
who knew how to shout.
A happy man
with a smile for all,
he'd always be there to
pick me up when I'd fall.
And though never far away,
we were never very close,
a sign of those times

Silhouette
Her eyes were stern
For each wrong I did
Whenever my wants hiked
Her wish-list got buried
Eternal place was her womb
Out I am in a far-off land
That lap is a "Silhouette"
Abided by values; he taught
What life ought to earn
Those spectacles scolded me
For "habits" had to learn
Desk is clean; though silent
Newspaper is lying unfolded
Chair re...

To Tenby
To Tenby
that moment at the end of bleary chivvying
summer special on my lap sweets already half eaten
in that moment when with a thunk
unclunked or clicked we were sealed into our holiday
brown vinyl burning legs below my snake belted shorts
father's cigarettes virginian sweet ashen flicked midges
caught on the wind sucked back through the window
sugaring minnie the minx or ginger and...

THE FAMILY - an Acrostic poem
There’s one word that everyone should know and treasure
Hold in reverence for life long companionship and pleasure
Even on the darkest days when pain and distress abound
Family is the one word that can bring a comforting sound
All can benefit if they simply recall their sister & brother
Maybe they are distant people they have yet to discover
In this world there is but o...

*The Day The Angels Cried*
The Day The Angels Cried
September-16 & 17-2002
Trisha M. Hopkins
Dedicated to those of 9/11
The day the angels cried
We lost our life and our pride
The day the angels cried
Is the day we lost our children, husband, and wives
What has changed?
The strength of the world, our lives
Its been rearranged
The one above
He'll help us through
All we can do is love
The on...
