Only Color Left

I took for granted everything,

colors of every hue.

I didn’t know those colors

filled my world because of you.

 

So, like the fool I am

I let you go, too blind to see

that on my own I am just alone

and things turned out to be

 

where colors slowly slipped away,

the yellows, greens and blues.

And now the only color left…

is the memory of you.

One Love

Two days until Christmas.

Two hours until light.

Too often you fill up

my dreams in the night.

Too tired to keep going.

Too weak to move on.

Two lovers divided…

in one love gone all wrong.

Longing

His love for her was strong but still,

a longing in his soul

took him to where he could be free,

but ocean’s take their toll.

 

He never did return

although she waited faithfully.

Day and night she sat there watching,

hoping she would see.

 

She prayed that his ship would return

but fate will have its way.

She waited til her time was spent,

until her hairs ...
