Clear Out

Angry sirens from the paper shredder

As I make a decision to destroy her,

for what use does she have for me now,

her youth, her hope, her old bank accounts?

The vacuum doesn’t open a gaping maw

There’s scarcely a memory any more

- I can’t mourn someone unremembered.

And so surrender my maiden name.
