Our First to Now

I know not from when you came.

How my insides echoed hollow.

I know not where my conscious went.

My mind forgot to follow.

I knew not of what empty meant.

not like the comet, highlighted with brilliant streaks of white,

nor like the falling star, though beautiful in its own right- too brief to be appreciated,

Hues of Grey

At such wicked speed must we start our sunrise

With routine comes anxiety for something unexpected,

I in particular, am outpaced and surmise

My spirit has not broken but blended,

Somewhere veiled are the colors of our resolve

An ardent battle to part hues of grey,

Together we fight only to devolve

Heroes are those mending the fray.

Wind atop our hill

Fall leaves amongst the trees,

Faint chatter in the valley

A feeling of tranquility.

Rain and Slate

To clasp the hand of my beloved is to bring out the best of me

Courage, affection; transcend my troubled state

If only but a moment, her love may drown me

Just as gentle rain may to slate
