The Dream

The following is a dream. In a small way I hope the ending comes true

My Mother, Sister, Brother and I check into a hotel room.

When we enter the room my Dad who passed away

almost five years ago is sitting on the bed.

We ask, "Daddy why are you here?" He says "I wanted to

see my family." We are overcome with emotion and hug

him. We are all talking at once.

So Very Alone

My name is Susan and this is my story.

When I was nine years old my parents and I moved to a run down farmhouse. This house was in the middle of nowhere. We were miles from our nearest neighbor. This made me feel so very alone.

In Times of Trouble

In times of trouble,

they say, "I love

you Mom."

In times of peace,

for advice.

In times of peace

On the day they

he didn't cry.

Everyone said

"He never loved her!"

On the one month

anniversary of her

death he was

found lying next

to her grave.

An empty bottle of

The Price of Freedom-(extended version)

A ghostly image of a soldier

stood in the background,

as a mother with a babe in her

arms stood by a grave site.

She lowly whispered, "Father

this is your son. Son this is your

father. He gave his life so that

others might live."

Now she is alone, but she

will survive. She will raise

this child without the aid

of others. This child will
