What on earth is the spelling out of a word, that we all understand and as a consequence hear in all of its anglo saxon explitia within the confines of our minds, in asterisks all about.

Surely this is a throwback from Visits from Auntie ,Womans Hour or Lady's friend...

Really is the the brave and couragous way forward of a modern day poet.

Or am I talking a load of B*****ks ?

Interesting one Gus. I think you're right if the use of asterisks is self-censorship.

But isn't there another use for the asterisked expletive? Can it not be used to subtly suggest a measure of repression of the angry reaction, or humour about the trigger event?

Long live nuances.
