Bookings for 2009
I was wondering if people had thoughts on approaching literary festivals, festivals and promoters in 2009. I am working on the basis that Jan and Feb is not too early to approach stages for the summer. Perhaps Im way off the mark?
Does anyone think that sending demos / books and biogs with reviews is a waste of time? Do promoters ever book people in this way or is it not always on a live performance/ recommendation basis?

there are probably loads of people trying to get a spot so getting in touch and sending out your material has got to be at at the top of the list.

Maybe now that the season is pretty much over, it'd be useful to hear how Mr Thetemp fared this year, and what he found worked for him and what didn't. Pete?
PS: Personally, I favour a two-pronged attack - get someone who's bound to be on the bill to recommend you to the programmer, and then hit 'em with your press-pack.
