CHRISTMAS CAROL
I have recently completed a Christmas carol and will be posting
its words - and a basic audio - on
my blog. How about the rest of you
weavers of words trying your hand?
The lyrics to the beloved older carols are akin to poetry and it would be fun aiming to add to the
collection as Christmas nears. What do you think?

Mad, bad, sad or glad...there is room for all at the inn! After all,
it's a matter of celebration that
it inspires whatever! Personally, I'm going to be old-fashioned and go
for the more traditional style.

That's a great idea MC - I don't know if you were around when we had themed poetry competitions. There was never any monetary prize - we just all wrote to a theme and then voted for a winner.
I think Christmas would be a great theme. Could we extend it to poetry about Christmas as well as Carols and songs - I think some of us don't think or write lyrically and it would enable more to take part.
If you want to go for it, why not post a blog also, asking people to join in. If people were to tag their poems with Christmas they would stand out.
That's just a suggestion of course. x

Isobel - thanks. I did that first and it was at the suggestion of
the excellent John Coopey that I put
this idea in the "discussions" zone.
Of course, the words come first but
if someone has a tune then great!
It can be added for the "Full Monty"
on the audio facility.

I put my own carol - "When Christmas
Comes Around" - on my blog page today. I hope it encourages others
to have a go!

Thanks J.C. - and to all those tempted to have a go - PLEASE do!
There is still plenty of time this
year...and remember, once written it's there for future Christmases.
