Biography
I’m singer/songwriter, lyricist, spoken word lady, based in Wales – a country whose rich landscape has captivated me. My strong connection to the Welsh landscape surfaces in my work and is reflected there, in my songs and poems. I am primarily a songwriter, many of these songs start in verse, or a poem, a line scribbled in a notepad. I have recently began reading my poems at some Open Mic spoken word nights locally, this has been a very encouraging experience. I am not quite comfortable calling myself a poet, more of a lyricist and verse writer. I enjoy the space I visit when I create and am glad to have found a place to share my words, and learn from others. I have recently submitted some poems for a Hydra zine and an Anthology from RARA in Cardiff. For me, the arts are not only a way in which we can engage with life, but also an empowering pathway that gently leads us to engage with ourselves. I can only hope my music and words can inspire others, to set out on their own creative path, and it is this hope that enables me to share them now. For more information on my projects, bel writes, bel sings, poems, songs, events follow my blog on www.belblue.co.uk ‘There is something of the lullaby in Bel Blue’s songs – timeless, wistful; full of lilt and lyricism. They speak to the tenderest parts of ourselves.‘ Briony Goffin – Writer Tutor

Orange and Blue Its always been your favourite colour, the opposite of blue. Just as I am, such a different hue to you. Deep and jazzy, you effervescent, bouncing on orange shoes, to drum and bass booms. The tropical and the melancholic, merge as two. Bel Blue 2014
