Hi Charlotte, you have a broken link on your homepage details info. It should read - charlottehenson.blogspot.com (not blogger.com). Just a heads up. Win

Am being nosey and commenting on your comments re Ted Hughes. I don't really think anyone can judge another for sure without knowing them personally. Films and media can portray things in skewed lights. I imagine living with a manic depressive would be very difficult, to say the least. I don't think it's a crime to fall out of love, either. I would tend to judge a person on how they treated their kids, mind. That is a completely different relationship. It can be made difficult when people separate though. The kids and the ex partner can become a package that not all people can unwrap.

In response to White Noise I was taking off from your comforting words at the end, "Afterwards, I would coax her out from under the sofa,
Stroke her hair when she would sob.
It’ll be okay, baby,
We’ll be okay." At times I settle for such resolve as in; It's sawright wit me because it's alright already. Always has been, you know what I mean? White noise as a metaphor is very real for me.I hope I have been more clear.

Hello Charlotte. I agree with Scott there is indeed a lot going on in your poems. There seems to be a busyness in them, more than is spoken by the words alone. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
By the way, I like Sylvia Plath but not in the usual way as I find her work very hard to digest. I don't understand what she is saying at all. Which is strange as I'm an ardent fan of both her husband and daughter.

These are very good. You have an excellent eye for imagery and a good ear for sound. I see a lot going on here, and admire it in one so young.
Hi Charlotte - thanks for your comment over 'My Hometown'.. The piece is a little rough still and there will be changes, so thanks for your note x
P.S. - The piece is about my love affair with my hometown (Stretford).

Hi Charlotte, great to see you on WOL. Have a look round and you will find lots of poets you have performed with already. Win x
Hi Charlotte thanx for comment, well spotted error, I've corrected it! It's usually me going on about those spelling errors, it drives me mad! I think I swapped lines round that much! Anyway, good to hear that you thought iut was appropriate to raise and have a look at yourself. Hope to see you soon, maybe guitar n verse next week. not read your book yet but looking forward to it! Jeff x

And I'm sorry I even picked up on it. It would probably have disappeared into obscurity but for my big gob :) I'm sure that the out of context quote was accidental - it's very easy to do when you are up close to an article that you are writing.
The new magazine must be an exciting project to manage. From a personal point of view, I think you will lack some of the soul that comes from the poetry of people who have lived longer and suffered more. What you lose on the swings, you may gain on the roundabouts though - as you say - young people may come up with newer, more innovative ways of looking at things. It will be interesting to see how it all develops.
Take care and hopefully see you in Wigan some time soon! x
