Biography

I'm 41 and when I grow up I'd like to be a writer. I'll have a bash at any kind of writing from poetry to short stories, scripts in radio or screen. Its all pen and paper or pixels on a monitor. As long as I have something to say I'll throw it down and try to make sense of it. To me the main thing is enjoying what I'm doing, anything after that is a bonus...

Samples

You’re Beautiful You’re beautiful. Not fake like a painted clown, ready to perform to an audience of adoring men, who appear mesmerised like sailors, doomed by the hypnotic dance of a mermaid. Not unapproachable because you believe that beauty is power. That kind of power is ugly. You’re beautiful like Gina Lollobrigida cartwheeling through the air and reaching for the trapeze as I hold my breath, Audrey Hepburn singing Moon River beneath my bedroom window, or Judy Garland discovering intelligence, courage and compassion whilst trying to find her way home. You are a drop of dew, falling from a blade of grass on the first day of spring, the deafening silence created by a campfire flame, the simplicity of staring at the sea and not wanting anything to disturb that moment. You don’t even know you’re beautiful. That’s what makes it so.
