Biography
Hello and welcome to my profile. I have only very recently started writing seriously (which may or may not show through in my work). I am keen to hone my poetic skills and expand my level of creativity in order to express myself. I'm a big fan of Don Patterson, Seamus Heaney, Philip Larkin and Paul Farley among others. Hope you enjoy reading!

Momentary Musings My mind has been released on bail pending further enquiries. Liberated, it walks with me through the gates and onto the streets but before wandering further it surveys, just for a minute - the football game in the alley, the blackbird's therapeutic chirp, the slowly trickling riverbed, the sky awash in orange-red. It feels a multitude of things - Weary, tentative, curious. It knows there's no place for it here but wants to savour this moment while still retaining self-control. This is what it will hark back to long after the football game's stopped and the blackbird has gone silent and the riverbed has flooded and the sun refuses to shine.

Hello Neil,
I have not long been on this site and today came across your profile. I have read several of your poems which I have thoroughly enjoyed. You certainly have your own style and a gentle humour when writing verse. Thank you. Keith

Are you the gentleman I met this week in WOL, Sale?
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you aren't, obviously.
Thanks Cynthia! ?
Neil, I will try to catch up with more of your work. I look forward to it.

I've not been too active on line lately. IMO, 'Momentary Musings' is really splendid. I think you have a fresh but sophisticated voice, and a fine command of language. It's wonderful to read works where ideas are strong and sharing them seems to be both a real desire and a labour of love.
I find poetry as 'emotional dumping' very hard to read sympathetically. But I'm just me. Lots of people really like it, like voyeurism.
