The unchosen path

Do not seek the armpit of distress

Bury your head

Lock the door

Draw the curtains

And pull up the drawbridge of despair

Do not fear the uncertain breeze

Of cough and of sneeze

Be the people you are destined to be

Meet the challenge

Light the light

Of love and of hope

Don’t run like frightened hungry rats

You are not one of a pack

You are part of a family

Of neighbour’s sisters and brothers

Who all walk the line

The unchosen path

Be the ones to say yes instead of no

Be the ones to stitch the wounds

Of another’s worry and anxiety

Hold the line

Be the phone call be the e mail what sup text

Be the smile amongst the tears

Be the calm and the rest

Share the love

Be your true self

Not someone else

This is a beautiful poem.
I especially like the last verse, filled with caring and hope.

I believe that we have a lot more to hope for than we realise at times. once people stop scrabbling to try and find the norm again it will be interesting to note what the new kind of norm will look like as restrictions are lifted.
Thanks Jon

Hi Martin
I love that this spreads hope instead of fear.
There is so much fear around at the moment that it's easy to forget we can still have, and bring hope to others.
Great stuff mate.

Thanks to Emer and Binte for liking and Po and Mark for commenting.

I believe now more than any other time we need to grasp the reality of reaching out to others in what ever way we can despite this pandemic and realise we are not what we haven't got or cannot do but the reverse.
Thanks for reading guys
Love and blessings to all

Very welcome positivity - thank you. But the accompanying picture
also made me smile.
