Licking Handrails
Let’s get this straight,
Before it’s too late,
Before we unnecessarily aggravate,
Those who might save our lives at a later date,
The point of the, “Lockdown,” isn’t to impose a police state,
Or surrender our liberties to one who would dictate,
Nor is it designed to negate,
The freedoms our forebears fought to instate,
It’s not designed to cause division,
Truth is it comes down to a simple decision,
“Should I stay in to slow the spread?”
“To reduce the tragic numbers of dead?”
“Or should I go out and block the very roads?”
“On which the ambulances carry their fragile loads?”
“And in so doing risk adding even one more soul,”
“To the staggering, saddening daily death toll?”
Don’t blame the health workers fighting this war,
Don’t misunderstand what they’re fighting it for,
Don’t fail to appreciate their sacrifice,
For them every day is a roll of the dice,
Realise you still have the absolute power to choose,
Go out and lick handrails if you don’t trust the news,
But if you trust the word of someone seeking re-election?
You’d best look up the meaning of, “Natural selection.”

Brilliant! So many doctors and nurses have given their lives here to save patients. Most people seem to realise that it is selfish not going by the regulations, as you risk becoming another patient for the already overworked NHS. How well you put it.
