Rainbow Girl
Turn the dial for the clocks tick and tock and never stop,
Spare a smile for those who keep their guard and never let it drop,
It’s a cold heart that stares out into the world and denies that beauty trickles in,
And the boldest part of the girl that sees the truth above the sin,
Her gift is that love runs through her to the core,
And when the world offered hurt she took that love and offered more,
And her tender soul is deep enough that she could drown Poseidon,
With the knowledge that no matter what the pain is she can be relied on,
To offer words of comfort to the bleeding hearts that walk this Earth,
And solid is the shoulder cried on, though many do not see its worth,
So hold hard to that solid, tender rock that stands against the storms,
And to those that are cold, extend the gentle hand that warms,
Yours is the gift of honesty expressed through the glowing light of love,
That the prism of your heart splits to a rainbow in skies above.

Dear Po, Victoria, Rosemary and Jennifer, thanks very much. It was inspired by a dear friend with a beautiful soul, Mae Foreman/Nora Kogka. So pleased you liked it.
