Perhaps you came from a bat,

sold on a market selling meat.

Purchased and ate by a man,

who preferred rare meat to eat.

 

Maybe you were a vampire,

sustained by the cull of lives.

Could the blood in your flesh,

resist heat and somehow survive.

 

Did your cells invade his body,

resulting in hyperventilating death.

Did you mutate into coronavirus,

instead of blood now stealing breath.

 

Reborn, passing human to human,

via the breath you desire and take.

Perhaps I will replace my mask,

for a crucifix, a hammer and a stake.
