yesterday

his dreams

were filled with

optimism

and he felt alive

 

today dark clouds

of despair

float across

his tormented mind

and

he sees

a bleak future

and wishes that

he were dead

 

tomorrow

rising floods

from cloud bursts

will drown

all his yesterday's

bright hopes

and

he shall forever

dwell in the darkness

created in his mind

 

but it may

altogether

turn out differently

when he awakens

from his dream

his

yesterday's

optimism may blossom

into a rosy future
