forget the policies

and the politicians

and be just people

helping each other

let us bind the wounds

repair the damage

and do all we can to achieve

peace among ourselves

if nothing else

do it for the children

who had no hand

in bitterness and revenge

let them show us the way

like children

let us see only the goodness

in each other

and be blind to

race color or creed.
