You’ll always Be My Friend (You Know Too Much!)

You’ll always Be My Friend (You Know Too Much!)

We are Alcoholics Anonymous without substance abuse.

A support group where no topic is taboo.

What goes on tour, stays on tour.

We step through a kaleidoscope of pain

from tender wounds of unrequited love

to brutal annihilation of innocence.

No stone is left unturned.

Emotions and insecurities are scrutinised

until the demon is exorcised, spilling it’s poison onto paper,

verbalising injustice to relative strangers.

“Relative strangers” – strangers who at once become family.

We lay our souls bare, submit our greatest vulnerabilities,

our fears, our desperate longings

all the while revering the turn of phrase, applauding success

in discovering the perfect word to communicate

the essence of suffering or exhilaration.

We find joy in the art and musicality of words

which encapsulate the heart of sorrow.

Thank you both for your comments...luckily, as I share my untold truths, so do the others in the group, we have enough material on each other to hang us all. Thankfully, they are all incredibly decent folk (with a great sense of humour) ?

The use of words is something of an art, written or spoken. The
pleasure is two-fold: giving and receiving. But as for friendship and
sharing - I recall some lines put in my childhood autograph book
(source long forgotten) -
Never let your friends your secrets know;
For if your friend becomes your foe...
Around the world your secrets go!
