Fall from grace

The leaves once so pretty

flirted shamelessly with

every gentle breeze

and how gracefully

they danced in the

bright glow of every sunshine.

Now touched by the

cold autumn wind

the leaves break free

from the trees

to hide their wrinkles

and fall from grace

into a roadside ditch.

perhaps falling from grace is just as natural as the autumn leaves being shed by the trees. it reminds me of the melancholy of "the sun also rises" by Ernest Hemingway. and that's a compliment!

The thin line between the two seasons well described and what a good comparison.

Dan thank you for your constructive criticism on this work. Every season has a purpose and autumn is when nature begins to slow down before winter locks it down and spring reawakens it.

Appreciate the encouraging like.

I am impressed with the imagery and efficiency of your words, but also somewhat depressed. This season in life does have it's purpose.

Lovely rhythm, Abdul. Hopefully the heatwave will keep them in place for a few more days!

Nicely described in poetic fashion. Perfect title too.
