This must be a nightmare
But I’m not asleep
All kinds of feelings
Are starting to creep
But as the demons
Torment my soul
The devil he laughs
The werewolves they howl
I’m running, I’m hiding
Deep down into the woods
In the shadows they lurk
My heart pumping blood
Sweating and gasping
I’m struggling to breathe
Head all in a panic
I don't want to believe
Scratching and scrapping
Deep into the dirt
Trying to dig deep
To escape from the hurt
Unearthing foundations
The deep buried past
Slowly uncovered
And open at last
Stretching arms to the moon
Reaching up to the light
Straight back down to earth
To face up to real life
This dream is reality
I pinch just to check
Quivering all over
I feel like a wreck
I need to be honest
To stand up and speak
As I grow a bit stronger
My silence gets weak
The devil is hushed
The demons locked away
The werewolves are tamed
Well......... at least for today.
