That full Blue Moon

was not what we expected

we expected it to be fuller

and closer

almost touchable

it had been given so much publicity

but it was not as advertised

it could have put on a better performance

given its star billing

it was disappointing to view

kind of a let-down given its build-up

no cheese

no cow or spoon

no man in the moon

next time Moon

if you are going to appear as promoted

come around again

but come closer and smile

pose for a photo

we want to see your face

up close and personal

we want to see craters

we want to see water

we want to see that flag

planted so many years ago

on top of that

mister hot shot Moon

you were not Blue!
