On Christmas Eve

we were kindly blessed

with the opening of

so many fine gifts

 

gifts gaily wrapped in

bright ribbon and bows

each package a gift

with much love bestowed

 

gifts given so freely

versus those obtained

are in fact equal

when love is exchanged

 

the true gift of Christmas

we have come to believe

is the pleasure of giving

and the love thus received.
